In a new cover story for Vogue Australia, Katy Perry reveals that she suffered from depression after critics and fans reacted negatively to her album Witness last year. “I have had bouts of situational depression and my heart was broken last year because, unknowingly, I put so much validity in the reaction of the public. She attended a week-long “personal growth retreat” to treat her unhappiness. Now, she says “That brokenness… gave me a wholeness I never had.”
Former Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams has checked herself into a mental health facility to seek treatment for depression. Michelle tweeted “For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your well-being, I recently listened to the same advice I have I have given to thousands around the world and sought help from a great team of healthcare professionals.” She concluded, “If you change your mind, you can change your life.”
Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones has a beef with Jessica Alba’s ‘Honest’ company. She tweeted, “Ok @Honest you just lost a good customer. @JessicaAlba please address your company that is not doing good business,” she wrote. “I have use your company for more than three years now and these last three orders have been a nightmare! I have spend too much money here for that to happen!” Alba responded a few hours later. “Omg! I’m so so sorry you haven’t had a great experience. We are all over this issue and will make it right,” she wrote “I am so appreciative and grateful to you for being a loyal Honest fan over the years, especially as we go through these growing pains. I’m a huge fan of yours. JA.” Alba founded the Honest Company in 2011.
