Eight women have come forward to accuse Morgan Freeman of sexual harassment. One accuser who worked as a production assistant on Going in Style in 2015 says Freeman “kept trying to lift up my skirt and asking if I was wearing underwear.” A producer on Now You See Me adds, “We knew that if he was coming by not to wear any top that would show our breasts, not to wear anything that would show our bottoms, meaning not wearing clothes that [were] fitted.” The CNN report also includes accounts from eight eyewitnesses of the accusers’ allegations. Freeman issued an apologetic statement, writing, “Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I am not someone who would intentionally offend or knowingly make anyone feel uneasy. I apologize to anyone who felt uncomfortable or disrespected—that was never my intent.”
Entertainment Tonight has uncovered multiple instances of “questionable behavior” on his part between 2015 and 2016 in past interviews. Like, in a promotional interview for London Has Fallen, Freeman asked correspondent Ashley Crossan on camera if she was married and if she “fooled around with older guys.”
VISA and Vancouver-based transit system TransLink have suspended their campaigns featuring the actor and his iconic voice.
