Beyonce and her sister Solange fell down onstage during Bey’s headlining set for Weekend 2 of Coachella. Solange joined Bey to do a choreographed dance during “Get Me Bodied.” When Beyonce tried to pick up Solange, they both fell to the ground. They stayed put for a few seconds and laughed it off before carrying on with the show. Like her Weekend 1 performance, Beyonce was joined by hubby JAY-Z and her Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams during her second set. She also brought out singer J Balvin to sing their single “Mi Gente.”
Ariana Grande performed her new single “No Tears Left to Cry” for the first time during a surprise appearance at Coachella during Kygo’s set on Friday night. Kygo’s set also featured a touching tribute to Avicii.
Swedish DJ and EDM producer Avicii was found dead on Friday at the age of 28. “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Tim Bergling, also known as Avicii,” his rep wrote in a statement. “He was found dead in Oman, this Friday afternoon local time, April 20. The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time. No further statements will be given.” CNN reports that since Friday, authorities in Oman have carried out two postmortems and ruled out “criminal suspicion” in Avicii’s death. Avicii–who battled anxiety and said he struggled with drinking too much, announced that he was retiring from touring in May 2016 because he had “too little left for the life of a real person behind the artist.”
Actor Verne Troyer, best known for his portrayal of Mini-Me in the Austin Powers film franchise, has died. He was 49. TMZ reports that the actor passed away on Saturday after being taken off life support by his family. Troyer had been in the hospital since earlier this month, when he was treated for possible alcohol poisoning. He had struggled with alcoholism for years and had been to rehab many times.
