The Met Gala, formally called the Costume Institute Gala and also known as the Met Ball, is an annual fundraising gala for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in NYC. It marks the grand opening of the Costume Institute’s annual fashion exhibit.
Rihanna proved that she’s the Queen of the Met Gala, dressed like the Pope. Riri, who also co-hosted the Gala, kept with the “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” theme by wearing a pearl and jewel-encrusted robe and matching papal mitre and necklace designed by Margiela. Katy Perry wore a gold Versace metallic mini dress, matching over-the-knee boots and an enormous pair of feathery white angel wings. And, Cardi B and designer Jeremy Scott nearly stole the show in matching, pearl-embellished Moschino ensembles. Cardi’s entire dress, gloves, choker, and headpiece were covered in beads and ornate jewels. Shawn Mendes and Hailey Baldwin debuted as a couple, as did Scar Jo and Colin Jost.
Just days after releasing the music videos for her new songs “Chun-Li” and “Barbie Tingz,” Nicki Minaj has revealed details about her forthcoming album. “It’s a big night for me because I just let the world know that my album is coming June 15 and it’s called Queen, and I can’t wait.”
