Roseanne is back on tonight, and Tom Arnold reveals Roseanne Barr banned him from dating Laurie Metcalf (Jackie) back in the day. Tom said “One night while partying during pilot week in 1988, Roseanne, who was in the front seat with [John] Goodman, noticed me holding Laurie’s hand in back. The next morning she called me into her office and told me, ‘Writers cannot date actors. That’s a rule of show business.’ Who was I to break a rule of show business?'” He adds, “Never mind that Roseanne and I got married two years later.” Arnold gives the Roseanne reboot a positive review and encourages viewers to check it out though and adds “Also, there’s Laurie f**king Metcalf. I can face all kinds of past pain and humiliation with a smile on my face because I know Laurie Metcalf walks this earth.” Arnold also confirms, “I’ll full-on admit to Laurie Metcalf superfandom, personally and professionally.”
On an episode of his podcast Armchair Expert, Dax Shepard revealed to guest Anna Faris that he wanted to ask her out back in 2005 when he was still single. “I saw Just Friends and was like, ‘You are so talented’ and you and I sat next to each other during a premiere,” he recalled. Shepard admitted he thought to himself, “I would definitely like to take this person on a date.” However, he felt like Faris wasn’t interested. “From my point of view, that door was shut. It was like a dead-bolt door,” he explained. Faris conceded. “I think my first husband may have been sitting to the right of me,” she noted. She did pay Dax a compliment though. “Can I be obnoxious? You have always been a very handsome man,” she declared. “You are just one of those guys that gets more handsome as they age, and it’s not just the Red Bull talking.”
